Isn't Sports Over Glorified
Hey guys,
There is someone, named Neeraj Chopra representing India who got a gold medal in Olympics,
A bit too much attention and praise is being given to him,
let's look at it,
so what we, Indians are being so happy and proud about is that, some dude threw a Javelin 84.24m away, OMG such an awesome achievement if it wouldn't have happened Indian would have died of shame. Really!! what does it change, how does that even matter, If that Javelin throw would have never even happened in the history, it wouldn't change anything, I am not saying that don't praise that guy or he didn't worked hard, but what I am saying is that he is getting way too much praise than he should have gotten,
That dude Neeraj Chopra doesn't have a really high value but he has a really high perceived value and you get paid and praised for what people perceive you deserve, Its not a problem with sports industry or with that single person it's a problem with the society, we are giving sportsmen/woman and actors way to much attention I don't get it! , why sportspersons' and actors' perceived values are so high, they don't make any difference directly, I mean yeah they entertain and make those people happy who actually make change, contribution to the society indirectly, but should they be given more wealth and attention than those actual hereos that are actually doing stuff,
It will make our children's believe that these are the heroes, legends and people I should look up to and aspire to be, NO! we don't want that, we need real heroes not actors and sportsmen/woman(I am not sexist ;).
and not to mention, its not your achievement it's his, why are people so proud about what you did is that you got bornt in the same country as that person,
you didn't did anything so why are you proud of it, you should praise him and appreciate him but why are you "proud" about it,
you didn't did anything, you were not even his coach or something you were just born in the same country/society.
Leaving you guys here to think about it,
stay motivated and positive (says the guy who wrote such a negative blog.)
see you later,
